The Summer Cafe is our local haunt, located conviently at the top of Malmesbury High Street, close to the Market Cross.
It’s a great town cafe offering a decent coffee (of the cappuccino/latte variety), a mean selection of cakes and a very nice bacon baguette.
I can also vouch for the salad lunches – pick some quiche and stack on the salad bits (potato, pasta, etc).
If this doesn’t sound hard-core enough for some cafe connoisseurs, be aware that this is the south Cotswolds, and ‘real’ greasy spoon type cafes are few and far between – though the cafe in Lyneham (albeit up a steep hill from Malmesbury) fts the bill perfectly.
