A trip to London for work can often be a chore, but when the company you’re working for has a reception that has a doorway in the Rapha cafe on Giro day, then it’s going to be different.
I was early for work, so a double expresso and one of their cinnamon buns seemed like a good breakfast – if you like strong coffee then this’ll tick your boxes – it wasn’t one of those thick expressos that deliver on taste but fails on texture, instead they managed to brew a really strong and bitter little cup.
Work proved to be busy, but at 16.00 I escaped and, like Mr Benn going into the changing room, I stepped through the glass door from corporate world to a cafe of avid Giro watches. I was only in time for the last five minutes, but it made my day.
